• High Absorbency - Calcium alginate dressings are very absorbent. Upon application to an exuding wound, calcium alginate dressings form a soft hydrophilic gel.
  The dressing absorbs the exudate vertically which minimizes the risk of periwound maceration.
• Conformable - Calcium alginate dressing are soft, making them very comformable. Because of this conformability, the dressings can be easily manipulated, making them ideal for wounds that require packing or special care.
• Non-Traumatic Removal - Once calcium alginate dressings have formed a
  soft hydrophilic gel, they can be removed easily without damaging healthy granulation tissue.

• Prevention of infection - Using sterile antimicrobial roll gauze to hold primary specialty dressings in place further reduces the incidence of contamination and infection while providing wounds with the needed protection.

• Bacteriostatic - Hydrogel sheet dressings contain glycerin which is a humectant formed from the hydrolysis of fat. The glycerin interferes with the water activity level in the wound, reducing the amount of readily available water. This creates an environment that is not conducive to the multiplication of bacteria. *
• Controls Maceration - Hydrogel sheet dressings have a high glycerin content which provides a moist environment without the potential of drying out or macerating the periwound tissue. **
• Pain Relief - Hydrogel sheet dressings have been reported to be effective for pain relief due to their soothing properties. ***
• Protection - Hydrogel sheet dressings are thick, making them an ideal protective cover for the wound site. The cushioning effect of hydrogel sheet dressings means that trauma from external factors is less likely to impede healing. ***

• Glycerin Base - Hydrogel gauze dressings contain a significant concentration of glycerin which minimizes the risk of macerating the periwound tissue.
• Conformable - Hydrogel gauze dressings are extremely conformable, making them ideal dressings for wounds that require packing or for difficult-to-dress areas.
• Non-Traumatic Removal - The inherent lubricating characteristics of hydrogel gauze dressings minimize irritation and protect delicate wound tissue from abrasive trauma when the dressings are changed.
